Road Trip!

I am taking a team to this event today. I am so excited that there are SIX of us going - 2 staff and 4 church members!!

It should be a great day of learning and fun. We should be full of energy and ideas when we get back this evening.

Watch out University!

It was a great workshop! The materials I received were awesome, the workshop was thought provoking, and it was great visiting a church that really gets the "First Impressions" importance!

The conversations at the lunch table, dinner table and on the ride home were also very thought provoking. I think this was a FIRST workshop for some of our people, and I was excited to see their enjoyment of the day. It was also fun to get to know people just a little bit better.

I think there are many things from the three workshops that we will be able to do at University, and in fact, are already starting to do. All in all, it was a fruitful day.

I had a great time too!

If you went with us, what are you going to do within the next 7 days to begin implementing what you learned?

I'll post my thoughts tomorrow.

I've already started!
Today I worked on adding value to first impressions (in the youth group), hanging welcome signs in the children's educational wing, and working on entry points (over at the pumpkin patch) by inviting two couples with young children to the Trunk-or-Treat event.

Oh, I just looked at the clock - I guess this happened yesterday. LOL
Good night! KR

One more thing I found interesting about the workshop trip - we had six decades represented in our group - 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's,
60's and 70 somethings. I found it interesting what each of us responded to most in our workshop sessions; our reactions to the Springcreek Church, and even our road trip together. It was great sharing the experience with such an interesting mix of people.

In talking to one of the workshop participants Friday, she shared with me how she felt like this workshop had stirred a calling within her, and she wants to explore further this particular area of ministry at University UMC.

I think we should plan more intergenerational road trips!
